Nothing to much has been happening on the Music front as of late. There are a few acts that will be flying through Vancouver in the next month or so, and some great movies will be playing as well.
Among the local acts, Kill Rhythum will be playing at Richards on Richards this Friday.
And Oasis will be ripping throug town next month, I'll post the exact dates next week.
This segment is more dedicated to more of top ten list.
The ten song picks based on moods. Or something like it.
Sunshine, Beaches, and Bonfires:
You can't go wrong with a classic remixed by a drunk thats been there time and time again. This one goes to:
All Summer Long - Kid Rock
Midnight Oil and Broken Amps:
If you're looking for a decent party you can never fuck it up with AcDc's Back in Black, still to this day hailed as the number one party rock album of all time. However for those younger generation crowds, I would suggest this pick, as it's one of my all time favs now:
Album: Running Wild
Artist: Airbourne
Recommended Songs: Too Much, Too Young, Too Fast; Running Wild; and Blackjack.
Stoned Off Your Rocker:
Now there is only one band in the world today that has actually won the genre label of "Stoner Rock", and thats the Queen's of the Stone Age. Their new album is a great mix of multiple sounds from every which genre, but for this particular title I'm gonna go with:
Songs for the Deaf - QOTSA.
Driving Down the Highway in a High Speed Pursuit, or Trying to Beat the Girl Home so She Doesn't Find the Other Woman's Panties:
Need I say more than:
Zeplin III - Led Zeplin
We're gonna finish this segmant on the number 5 spot, and I'll finish the next 5 on the next show.
For Those That Love To Skate, Rebel, Or Just Get Hammered and Break Shit:
For me, there are many punk rock bands, legends in their own right that could steal this spot... but I have to pick one.
Siren Songs For the Counter Culture - Rise Against
This is my personal pick. As This album really sky rocketed the bands popularity and established them as a prominant force to be reckoned with in the punk rock/rebel rock genre. Pennywise's the Fuse made a close second. You could also argue that Bad Religion, and Black Flag could steal this spot as well. Fuck I like them all, But one had to be chosen.
Till next time all!
And remember, the music ain't too loud, you're just not screaming loud enough.
Cheers Fuckers
